On Saturday 16th December a number of members attended an acrylic workshop, with Artist Sonia Villiers, I think tthe high quality of their work here speaks for itself. Well done all!!
Something very fishy was going on at this months meeting. Members were encouraged to take last months demo of fish in oils as inspiration. Opposite is a work in charcoal and pastel pencil.
Our Winter exhibition opens today in the Haverhill Library and will be on display until 2nd December. There are a wide range of subjects and media used and an original artwork makes a fabulous Christmas gift.
The Christmas cards have now been printed and look superb, warm congratulations to those artists whose cards were printed.
Our September meeting saw a good turn out for the hands on event, we also saw a number of great submissions for the Christmas card competition.
At our September meeting we had a very informative evening with Artist Rodney Bastable (opposite) who shared with us one of his latest works (still in progress).
Our July meeting saw a good number of members doing their own chosen work ranging from locos to horse portraits!…looking ahead to next month we will have visiting artist Rodney Bastable who will be demonstrating the use of acrylics!.
Our June meeting saw members working tand using Last months demonstartion by Artist Monica Alikoviene as inspiration. Opposite are 2 stacked cups painted in Watercolour at the June meeting.
Our May meeting was a very enjoyable demonstration by visiting Artist Monica Alikoviene who produced this remarkable photo-realistc still life. Monoca’s attention to details and tonal control was amazing. viewing the actual painting one can see the brilliance of the colours and appreciate the 3d modelling achieved. Our meeting next month will be a hands on workshop all are welcome both members and non-members.

Our monthly meeting last evening ( April 10th) was to have a go at recreating the great work of artist jamie Sugg which was the subject of our demonstration by Jamie during our meeting in March. It was great to see Rose who dropped by to have a cuppa and chat with us. Rose has been awared honory membership of our group in loving memory of her husband Bill who was one of the founding members of the group and was for many years our chairman and chief organiser of our exhibitions. Last night also saw us meet for the first time in our new meeting place in the West End Congregation Church hall which is perfect for our needs. We also welcomed a new member and visitors which made for a very enjoyable social evening.
Opposite are watercolour landscape paintings created by Artist Jamie Sugg , at our evening meeting on 6/3/2024 at the Haverhill Library. These scenes are some of those that Jamie can see from the window of his home and provide a great source of inspiration.
